Art critics choose the Galleri Grotta solo exhibition a one of the art exhibitions of the year 2025

January 26, 2026

The solo exhibition LJÓS [mynd] LIST at Galleri Grótta - municipal gallery in Seltjarnarnes, suburbian town of Reykjavik, Iceland - was selected by art critis of the national newspaper to be one of the best exhibitions of last year in Iceland. The exhibition was curated by Becky Forsythe.

Other artists exhibitions on the list were mostly Icelandic and locally based artists including an ambitious retrospective survey of the lifelong work of pioneering Icelandic video artist Steina Vasulka at the National Gallery/Reykjavik Art Museum, but also international artists exhibitions like the breathtaking set up for a solo exhibition of Past Never Was, It only Is by Larissa Sansour’s at Reykjanes Art Museum, curated by Jonatan Habib-Engqvist and an exhibtion of The Clock by Christians Marclay at The National Gallery.
