Hops Hopsi

10-channel video and mixed media installation (2010/2011)

Solo exhibition at Reykjavik Art Museum in 2011 curated by Yean Fee Quay.

The installation consisted of Hops Hopsi (2010), 10 channels of video loops of various lengths displayed on tube monitors of different sizes and also projected on various walls at various height levels, The Luminous Circus Tent as Neoliberalism (2010), a large-scale textile sculpture in the form of a collapsed circus tent, constructed from orange and yellow sailcloth, symmetrical yet irregular form, Young Lucky Luke as a Communist (2010/11), a lightbox sculpture made from thousands of transparent coloured gummy bears (Gelatin, sugar, glucose syrup, starch, flavouring, food colouring, citric acid) fixed on acrylic glass and 8 boxes painted white, 240 x 260 cm, octagon shaped polyester columns in various heights for projectors and monitors, including a octagon shaped DVD box and cables taped in various colours.

Street view. The indoor exhibition reached out to the street via street visibility of a massive 'gummy bear' lightbox sculpture on a platform connected to the exhibition space. The location also made the exhibition visible from the main foyer of the museum.
